A tasty investment in Rwanda's future
By Daaf van Doorn, Retail Specialist
Driving along the dusty roads of the Eastern Province, the stark contrast with the Netherlands is immediately noticeable. In the small villages, children play while their parents work in the fields. For them, school is not an option; the average income is only €1 per day. Yet, the farmers greet us with a smile. Thanks to Spices Rwanda, they have doubled or even quadrupled their income. Although the progress is significant, learning effective farming techniques remains a challenge. The potential of the project, as well as for Rwanda's economy, is enormous, driven by the favorable climate and the farmers' determination to build a better future for their families.
A Partnership for the Future
In the coming years, Chainn will become a strategic partner of Spices Rwanda, focusing on the Kayonza region. Together with the experts from Spices Rwanda, we will support farmers with cultivation challenges and contribute to creating a thriving community for future generations. We connect partners and experts to the project through our extensive network and contribute to practical solutions, such as establishing irrigation systems and drying facilities. All in a sustainable manner, allowing farmers to eventually build their future independently.
Standing on Their Own
The goal is to support Rwandan farmers in a structural and sustainable way, ensuring a better future for them and their families. Thanks to the efforts of Spices Rwanda, they have already made significant progress, but there is still a lot of potential for further growth. Chainn will help harness this potential in the coming years, with the ultimate goal of farmers becoming fully independent and strengthening their community.
